Vanguard Academy Public Charter School sits in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley, a diverse and dynamic region of the Rio Grande Valley. Vanguard Academy compromises of 10 square miles and encompasses the cities of Alamo, Edinburg, and Pharr. Vanguard is the second largest charter district in South Texas.

Founded on sound morals, values, and principles, Vanguard Academy has grown into a large community-based school system. 2023-2024 Open Enrollment

Vanguard Academy is accepting applications for all students from Pre-K3 through 12th grade for the 2023-2024 school year. Thank you for your interest in enrolling your child at Vanguard Academy. Texas ACE – After School Program

After school and summer programs provide supplemental assistance to help students build a foundation in reading and math and connect high school students to careers and college. Activities include mentor programs, tutoring, academic enrichment, the arts, physical activity, hands-on learning, and family engagement. These programs provide high-quality academic enrichment and other activities designed to increase students' overall academic success. The largest dedicated fund source for programs in Texas is the federally-funded 21st Century Community Learning Centers program, also called Texas Afterschool Centers on Education, or Texas ACE.

Congratulations to the Vanguard Beethoven Orchestra Double Bass Ensemble!

"The Vanguard Beethoven Orchestra Double Bass Ensemble” was selected as one of only two ensembles from across Texas to perform at the 2023 Texas Orchestra Directors Association Summer Convention in San Antonio on July 21. The selection process consisted of an application and video submission of the ensemble that were evaluated by a judging panel.
This is the first year that TODA has invited student groups to perform. The double bassists, who range from 4th - 10th grade, will play their program for teachers from across the state.
The Vanguard Orchestra program began in 2019 and is under the direction of Cristina Amorim and Adriana Rodriguez.

The Vanguard Academy Child Nutrition Program (CNP) is proud to share the blessings received during this summer 2023!

Thanks to the Texas Department of Agriculture Seamless Summer Option (SSO) program, Vanguard Academy Child Nutrition Program served:
3,822 meals to the ARISE Community in the cities of Edinburg, Alamo, Las Milpas and Pharr
840 meals to the St. Joseph Catholic School
8,621 meals to Vanguard Academy summer students

Vanguard Academy provides a safe, fun, and skill-based sports and Fine Arts experience for students in grades K-9th. Join us for a five-day summer camp, June 12-16, from 8am-12pm. Team up with our amazing coaches and teachers for the ultimate Camp experience!
